Katie Davis: The Petite Powerhouse Behind Charjean Couture

At just 18, Katie Davis is proving how small can be mighty. Born at under 2 pounds—21 weeks prematurely—she’s now a young powerhouse in couture fashion and pageantry, hailing from Gallatin/Nashville, Tennessee.

A Challenging Beginning… and a Bold Dream

Katie faced size struggles from her earliest days. Her petite frame meant pageant gowns from stores often didn’t fit, even though she looked “perfectly proportioned” in photos. She vividly recalls asking her mom, Dana Davis, “What’s wrong with me?” Eventually, she found the answer herself—when standard sizing failed her. At age 13, with her family’s support, she launched Charjean Couture, a brand where each creation is tailored to the unique dimensions of the individual—not just labeled size S, M, L.

The Family Behind the Designer

Dana and her husband have been Katie’s pillars—providing encouragement, runway styling, and logistical support for shows. Katie’s grandmother also inspired her aesthetic with creative spirit and handcrafted flair. Today, the Davis household buzzes with fabric swatches, fittings, and fierce ambition.

Community Heart: Charjean Gives Back

Charjean Couture isn’t only about bespoke gowns—it’s about purpose. Katie is also the founder of Katie’s Little Angels, a nonprofit supporting NICU families, born from her own early struggle. Through sales of her couture line, she channels resources to support premature infants nationwide.

Early Accolades & Pageant Fame

Katie began entering pageants early and racked up honors—including titles like Miss Tennessee Preteen International and Jr. Miss TN Galaxy. But it was the struggle to find the right clothes that led her to switch from contestant to creator, designing her own gowns—initially to meet her own needs, later for others.

Runway Breakthrough & Global Reach

Charjean Couture debuted its Angel Collection at Cosmopolitan New York Fashion Week in February 2021, and continues to show at major events like NYFW Feb 2025, Miami, Orlando, Milan, and more. Katie’s designs have been featured in Icelandic fashion showcases and graced teens and women with smaller frames seeking elegant, custom-fit gowns .

Creative Collaborators

Katie’s runway success is bolstered by an amazing team: photographers like those from the Cosmopolitan NYFW editorial, hair-and-makeup pros—most recently Nicole Jackson and Preslie Bennet for a Charjean shoot in May 2025—and her parents, who coordinate casting, logistics, and wardrobe management.

A Future Tailored Just for You

Today, Charjean Couture (@charjeancoutureusa) stands as proof that fashion should celebrate individuality. “We make clothes to fit that one individual who commissions them,” Katie explains. No standard sizes. No compromises.

She’s already living what she designs—and just like her nonprofit, her message is clear: You are not too small to shine.
