Most of us only have a vague idea of what we want from a career. Alejandra belongs to a different breed of models. She knows the brands and styles she wants to represent as a model and makes moves to make them happen.

If you were given $25,000 to spend on yourself or your brand, how would you spend it?

If it were for me, possibly buy my mom a new car. For my brand, invest in a new red-carpet wardrobe.

Are you looking to stay independent or are you looking for an agency?

Looking to work with an agency such as Ford, Elite, or Wilhemina.

Who or what is your career inspiration?

My grandmother was a fashion designer. So was my mom. She’s a very strong yet graceful woman. My mom is a single mother and she has sacrificed everything for me and my career. She’s my inspiration and where I draw strength from.

What is your experience using professional photographers?

I work well with them and follow their instructions because I have some great talent working with me like Mike Chaiken my current photographer.

What brands do you fantasize about modeling for?

Gucci, Guess, Hermes, Versace, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein

What would it take for you to consider yourself successful in this industry?

For me, it’s about continuing to work. I work hard to stay in the business. Success is being able to look back at the body of work I’ve had the privilege to be a part of and know I have more to accomplish.

What is one mistake you’ve made during your career that became the best learning experience?

Trusting everyone too much. I learned that some people aren’t honest because they are taking too many shortcuts to make sure they prosper first. After some time, you notice the ones who are in it for the work and the ones who are in it just for the quick return.

Are you interested in pursuing other careers alongside modeling? (ex. Acting, product lines, music, etc.)

Of course! Who doesn’t want to expand their modeling career into acting or start their own makeup line? But for now, I’m focusing on modeling first.

What is one tip you would give a new model starting their career?

Be yourself and ALWAYS be kind.

We can’t wait to see you in an upcoming print edition of NY Style Magazine and add you to the list of amazing models we’ve featured.
